Welcome! I’m Tessa. I’m a freelance feature writer – you can read my pieces in the East Anglian Daily Times Suffolk magazine and other Archant titles if you like, and owner of a very undone garden in the heart of Suffolk. I’m also a mother, wife, peace-keeper, organiser, feeder of and carer for the myriad feathered, furred, reptilian and humanoid creatures that share our home. I can sometimes be found at the piano or playing my cello with the Suffolk Sinfonia. I’m by no means an expert in the garden! But I want to learn, and this blog is a record of my horticultural fumblings as I attempt to make something lovely of the outdoor space around our house. My husband’s company, STV, supplies innovative pest control products for home and garden use. This would suggest that our garden is a sublimely pest-free space. It’s not – yet – much of our work being undone on a regular basis by the determined activities of muntjac, rabbits, moles and squirrels. We are working on this!
